Debye Waller Factors and Lamb Factors in the Scattering of X-rays, -rays and Thermal Neutrons
The paper reviews the applicability of Debye-Waller factors and of Lamb factors to the non-resonant and resonant elastic scattering of X-rays, gamma-rays and thermal neutrons, emphasizing temporal aspects in the interactions. The influence of static disorder upon elastic scattering, in particular upon resonance scattering, is likewise treated. The scattering of X-rays, y-rays and thermal neutro...
متن کاملElastic Νn and Ν̄n Scattering and Strange Form Factors of the Nucleons
Elastic scattering of neutrinos and antineutrinos on nucleons is considered. It is shown that the measurement of the neutrino-antineutrino asymmetry would allow to obtain model independent informations on the strange axial and vector form factors. The ratio of the magnetic form factors of the proton and neutron, on which the asymmetry depends, is investigated in detail. The asymmetry is calcula...

متن کاملMagnetic neutron scattering (invited)
The application of neutron scattering techniques to magnetic problems is reviewed. We will first discuss diffraction techniques used to solve magnetic structures, as well as to measure magnetic form factors, order parameters, critical phenomena, and the scattering from low-dimensional systems. We will also discuss inelastic scattering techniques, including polarized beam methods, utilized to de...

The general theory of neutron scattering is presented, valid for the whole domain of slow neutrons from thermal to ultracold. Particular attention is given to multiple scattering which is the dominant process for ultracold neutrons (UCN). For thermal and cold neutrons, when the multiple scattering in the target can be neglected, the cross section is reduced to the known value. A new expression ...
